FAA Regulations

Before you start flying, it's crucial to familiarize yourself with the FAA regulations. Anyone flying a drone is responsible for flying within FAA guidelines and regulations. The Max AGL (above ground level) altitude is listed within each grid, and if you need to fly above this limit, you'll need to file for an Airspace Waiver thru the FAA Drone Zone website.

Part 107 Certification

The FAA Part 107 regulations allow people to fly drones for a profit or commercial use if they gain a license from the FAA. To attain the license, drone pilots must pass a 60-question, 2-hour exam offered at an FAA testing center. Our instructors have already taken the time to pass their Part 107 Exam and received FAA certification, so you don't have to.

Flying in Red Grids

If you want to fly in the Red Grids, you'll need a 107.49 waiver to meet FAA Part 107 Rules and Regulations. Don't worry - our instructors haven't yet attained the ability to control the weather, and nor have we! We're here to help you navigate the regulations and ensure your safe and legal flight.

Drone Models

Almost all of our instructors fly a DJI Mavic, DJI Inspire, or DJI Phantom model. If there's a specific model that you'd prefer to fly, just let us know! You can also bring your own registered drone - but if you'd like to use one of ours, it will depend on which models our instructor prefers to fly.
